So long as myths about poverty persist, many in our community will remain content with the status quo—a status quo that includes tens of millions of children and adults struggling to survive amidst our prosperous nation.

The Center on Poverty is focused on bringing the community together to unearth, examine, and challenge the ideologies that uphold the current poverty-producing structures in our society. This is a critical element in the effort to end poverty, for only when these ideologies are seriously and thoughtfully challenged will the broader community be able to unite in ensuring that every one of our neighbors has the fundamental resources that human dignity demands.
